        Kashmiri culture was greatly influenced by Hinduism, Buddhism, and then later by Islam. Kashmiri culture is mainly practiced by people living in the Kashmiri Valley and Dodab. It is important to note that our culture is predominantly followed in Kashmir Valley only, and Doda of the Chenab region. Kashmiri culture is defined by its religious values, the Kashmiri language, literature, cuisine, and the traditional values of mutual respect.


    The different aspects of Kashmiri culture discussed below constitute a major component of Kashmiri spirit. Kashmiri culture encompasses the spoken languages, written literature, cuisine, architecture, traditions, and history of the Kashmiri people, who are indigenous to the northern region of the Indian Subcontinent. The dynamic culture and traditions of Kashmir Valley are represented by its aristocratic people.

 

        Cradled in the laps of majestic Himalayan mountains, the Kashmir Valley, besides its picturesque views, is renowned for its rich culture. It is widely known that Jammu & Kashmir has a model heritage & culture, beautifully showcased through the festivals of Kashmir. The sacred places of Srinagar and the surrounding areas portray the historic cultural and religious diversity of the city and also of Kashmir Valley. While Jammu and Kashmir has been a center for high learning Sanskrit and Persian, the origin of the first Indic-Aryan civilization, as well as the origin of flourishing, it has also been an accepting place for the emergence of Islam, which brought with it the folds finest traditions of Persian civilization, tolerance, fraternity, and sacrifice.

        Jammu and Kashmir has a composite culture created by the people from diverse faiths like Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, and Buddhist. Jammu Kashmir is a diverse mixture of various cultures. People of various religions and different social practices from Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists created a composite culture in the state, called Kashmiriyat. Kashmir Valley has enjoyed a mixed religious existence and has integrated Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists which has made Kashmir even more unique in its culture.


 The languages of Kashmiri people:

        The languages of Kashmiri people are to some degree influenced by the Kashmiri culture which is based on dancing, music, festivals, eating habits, and literature that predominantly influences peoples lifestyle. The People of Kashmir has interesting and different pattern of Lifestyle because of their unique and varied Culture. Kashmiris are heavily influenced by Indo-Aryan religions and languages, which have brought about many changes in their way of life as well.

The people in Jammu Kashmir love to adhere to their culture, and decades of engagement with other places philosophies has not tainted its own culture. Kashmiri culture deserves real admiration and the traditions of Kashmir and also its different specialties mirror Kashmirs wonderful culture, we should try to preserve that
