Pakistans scenic beauty has attracted both foreign and domestic travelers and tourists over history, but Pakistans image as a tourist destination has been damaged by terrorism and militancy, especially in the northern parts of the country -- for example, the shooting death of Malala Yousafzai in Swat in 2012, and the massacre at an army public school in 2014. Major tourist attractions in the country include the ruins of Mohenjo Daro and Harappa, a Himalayan mountain resort. Faisal mosque (the largest mosque in South Asia), Margalla Hills National Park, Daman-i-Koh, the monuments of Pakistan, Rawal Lake, Simli Lake, and the Fatima Jinnah Park are some of the tourist attractions of Azad Kashmir. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is known for its diverse natural beauties, comprising a few breathtaking valleys and mountains in the north, including Kaghan and Swat Valleys, as well as the famed Khyber Pass. The Phander valley is one of Pakistans safest places, and the people are as awesome as the views. Chapursan Valley only gets a few tourists, one of the more remote places that you can visit in Hunza. The lake has bright blue waters which cut across the rolling terrains of the Hunza valley. The lake is one of the most visited places for tourism in Pakistan, offering thrilling experiences such as skiing, boating, fishing, etc.
